Get a Little Gold on iOS The story of the game is long!

I started building Get a Little Gold (my long-form idle/incremental game with slow, meditative gameplay, multiple layers of prestige, and mechanics and game modes that gradually unlock the longer you play) in 2013. The game currently has at least 6+ months of content before you reach the soft endgame.

The first version was built in Flash and released on Kongregate in 2016 (shoutout to everyone who remembers when that was the place to release a game).

The game turned out to be quite successful, reaching more than 2 million plays on Kongregate over the next 4 years.

Then, in 2020, Flash died. And with it, my game.

So I did the only thing I could think of: I learned an entirely new programming language (C#), a new game engine (Unity), and rebuilt the whole thing from scratch for mobiles (a dream I’d had for years) - all while COVID was happening and a war broke out in my country. That rebuild took 5 years.

In May 2025, I finally released it on Google Play.

Results after 1 year

One year later: just over 5,000 installs and 100+ positive reviews - with zero marketing budget. Almost everyone who found the game came organically through Google Play search, my devlog YouTube channel, or the old Flash-era Discord community that never forgot the game existed. The value of those long-time supporters is impossible to overestimate.

It’s not a huge number. But it’s real people choosing to play something I’ve been building for over a decade, and that means the world to me.

What’s next?

I plan to keep developing Get a Little Gold, releasing a new update every 3-4 months on average. I already have enough ideas planned for at least the next couple of years, so I’m excited to see what the future holds.

Where to play

After the recent release on AppStore the game is now available on both, Google Play and iOS.
